At Morgan Stanley during most of the 1990s, Mr. Serbin was a core member of the M&A teams for Morgan Stanley's first two strategic acquisitions ($300 Million and $1.2 Billion) and its $10 billion merger with Dean Witter.
Mr. Serbin facilitated Morgan Stanley's expansion of all of its core business units and in both developed markets (Canada, Europe and Japan), and emerging markets (China, India, Brazil).
He received a B.A. degree from Harvard University (Pre-Medical and Government) and did two years of graduate coursework in Finance and Management at the Massachusets Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management where he was also an Assistant at the International Financial Services Research Center. At Harvard Business School, Mr. Serbin served as a Research Associate and is the co-author of popular Harvard Business School case studies utilized in Executive Training and Business Schools throughout the globe.
With significant experience and expertise in emerging and frontier markets, Mr. Storment has, over the last decade, led the efforts in strategically positioning and building a leading global middle market investment banking practice specializing in Emerging and Frontier Markets in Africa, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Recent transactions include $15 million of convertible preferred equity for a leading micro-finance institution - Blue Financial Services of South Africa - and $161 million in preferred equity for a leading African Universal Bank.
Mr. Storment received a BA from Harvard College (History & Literature) and an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business.
